ABOUT

Hello! I’m Lea Wade, a freelance digital artist & illustrator living and working near London. Like most artists, I’ve been drawing and painting ever since I could first pick up a crayon and destroy my mother’s pristinely lined-up wallpaper. Because of this, I decided to augment my lifelong thirst for visual knowledge with a series of qualifications in Art & Design, eventually culminating in 2009 with a BA (Hons) in Illustration from the University of Portsmouth.

Illustration forms a hefty and enjoyable bulk of my work, but designing characters gives me a sense of satisfaction so great, not even the successful dunk of a custard cream into a mug of hot tea can compare! I love to create characters of all body types, species and styles, and armed with my Goldilocks-esque personality (not too girly, not too blokey) there’s very few genres I’m uncomfortable with.

I aim for a cinematic quality with my style, which mainly features organic subjects - such as people, characters or creatures - and intangible elements like emotion, atmosphere and narrative. As such, my work is best suited to animation and games, as well as editorial, publishing, fashion and advertising.

To Agents: I'm currently seeking representation so if you feel you can make ample use of my talents please feel free to get in touch and we'll have a chat.
